VEGAN 🌱 NEWS
It’s taken a lot of time and effort and trial and error, but we can proudly say that we now produce vegan ‘sausage’ rolls at Little Jack Horners.
We have converted our previous two vegetarian recipes by using the best, ethically sourced vegan alternatives instead of the butter, eggs and goats cheese that we were using before.
So the new recipes are:
Spinach Potato and Nutmeg
Sweet Potato, Kale and Paprika
We are incredibly proud of them. The difference between these new vegan rolls compared to the previous vegetarian incarnations is surprisingly small - we’ve really worked on that to ensure it’s the case.
We know that our wholesale customers across the country will be very pleased to hear this news, as we have been asked to make vegan rolls that actually taste pretty good for years! Production begins next week so are available for your next orders.
For private customers you are now free to order on the website, and they will be available at our shows and events this year, starting with our lovely local @thefromeindependent next week. We’ll update you with our 2022 events calendar on Monday.
We’ll continue to champion the very best local, free range butter, milk, pork, chicken and beef from our doorstep here in Somerset. We are proud of doing so and feel very much representative of our local rural economy. The way we see it, vegan food very much sits alongside traditional food as part of a balanced diet. As well as that we also applaud the new generations pushing for change and improvements to their world and are steadfastly vegan. There’s room for everyone here at LJH! 😉😇
